We built Revive because too many women were being told to “just live with it.”

Dr. Dawn Andalon, DPT, co-founded Revive in 2016 after 13 years of watching women leave appointments with generic exercises and zero real answers. This practice exists because that was never good enough. We are an all-female team of women's health physical therapists and Pilates specialists in Encinitas, CA — and we specialize in finding what has actually been missed.

One hour, one-on-one. No experience needed.

Integrated PT & Therapeutic Pilates — The Only Practice of Its Kind in North County

You Left That Appointment with a Sheet of Generic Exercises and Zero Real Answers. And You Have Been Managing It Ever Since.

Women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s are told the same things, over and over: “This is just part of aging.” “Try Kegels.” “You might need surgery.” “There's not much more we can do.”

So you did what you were told. Maybe more than once, with more than one person. And every time you left with a photocopied sheet, a follow-up date six weeks out, and the distinct sense that nobody had actually looked at you — only at the part of you that was complaining.

Nobody asked the question underneath it. Not where it hurts. What you have stopped doing because of it. What you have quietly decided it means about the next twenty years.

That was not care. That was a printout and a date six weeks out.

Why Revive Exists

Dr. Dawn Andalon Spent 13 Years Watching Women Be Dismissed. Then She Built the Practice She Wished Existed for Them.

For thirteen years before Revive, Dr. Dawn treated women inside traditional healthcare — outpatient clinics, hospital systems, and a physical therapist and consultant at Nike World Headquarters in Portland. Different settings, same pattern every time. Fifteen-minute appointments. Symptoms called normal for her age. A printed sheet of exercises and a follow-up in six weeks.

She was not the only one seeing it. Her husband, Dr. Oscar Andalon, DPT, was watching the same thing from inside the same system. And neither of them thought the people inside those buildings were the problem. The clinicians were good. The system they worked inside was not built to let them do the job — the appointment length was not theirs to set, the number of visits was not theirs to decide, and the intake form was written by someone who would never meet the woman filling it out. You cannot fix that from inside it. You can only leave and build something else.

So in 2016 they built Revive. Not as a better version of what those women had already tried, but on a different set of decisions.

The first was time. A full hour of undivided attention. No double-booking, no handoff to a tech, no three women on three tables at once.

The second was how the practice gets paid. Revive is private-pay, which means no insurance approvals, no session caps, no six-visit limit — every decision about your care gets made for one person, and that person is you.

The third was that care doesn't end when symptoms do. Physical therapy alone was never the whole answer; women needed somewhere to keep getting stronger afterward. So Dr. Dawn trained the Pilates side herself, in her own method, so there was no gap to fall through.

The fourth was what we ask. Pain, leaking, the back she has been working around since her forties — that is what she says out loud first. It is almost never the thing that keeps her staring at the ceiling at two in the morning. Underneath it is usually something she has not said to anyone: that she has quietly stopped traveling, and that she is saying no to things and telling everybody she is just busy.

And underneath that, the thing she has watched happen to a parent — the surgeries, the pills she cannot get through the day without, the chair in the shade while everybody else is in the pool with the grandkids. She is not asking us to fix her back. She is asking us to make sure that is not her.

You cannot reach that in fifteen minutes, and you certainly cannot reach it by asking her to rate her pain from one to ten. So we built the time in — a full hour, and a real conversation before it and after it — because the answer that matters is rarely the first one she gives.

We do not treat a diagnosis. We treat the woman who has it.

Today Dr. Dawn no longer treats clients. She trains every specialist here in the Pelvic & Core Reset™ Method, and she is the reason the standard is the same whoever you are in the room with.

“People suffer much longer than they have to, simply because they haven't found the right guide yet.”

Meet the Revive Team

Meet the women trained to deliver every one of them.

Every woman who walks through our door is seen, heard, and treated like the individual she is. Our all-female team was built that way on purpose — because the women we serve deserve specialists who understand their bodies, not generalists who treat everyone the same.

Dr. Annalise Thompson PT DPT — pelvic floor physical therapist at Revive PT & Pilates Encinitas, CA

Dr. Annalise Thompson, PT, DPT

Physical Therapist, Pelvic Floor Specialist, Pilates & Fitness specialist

"Movement is a human right — and it took my own experience with chronic pain to truly understand how powerful the body's capacity to heal really is."
Dr. Annalise brings a uniquely integrated approach to physical therapy — one that draws from sports performance, orthopedics, women's health, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and Pilates. Her higher-level training from the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Institute, combined with her clinical Pilates expertise, allows her to address the mind-body connection that's often missing in traditional PT settings.

Her own journey through chronic pain is what drew her to this work and keeps her showing up with genuine empathy for every client who arrives feeling like their body has failed them.

Babette Cordova — physical therapy assistant and Pilates specialist at Revive PT & Pilates Encinitas CA

Babette Cordova

Physical Therapy Assistant, Pelvic Floor Specialist, Pilates and Fitness Specialist

“I know what it feels like to lose confidence in your own body — and I know what it feels like to get it back.”

Babette brings a rare combination of clinical expertise and deeply personal understanding to her work. As a licensed PTA with specialization in pelvic floor and Pilates, she works with women navigating injury, recovery, and the physical transitions of midlife.

After two lumbar spine surgeries of her own — a laminectomy in 2015 and a spinal fusion in 2017 — she experienced firsthand what it means to rebuild strength from scratch. That journey is why she shows up the way she does.

Virginia Aherin

Pilates & movement specialist

"Movement is not just exercise — it is how we stay connected to ourselves. That belief is what I bring to every single session."

Virginia's approach to Pilates is rooted in a simple conviction: when movement feels good and purposeful, it becomes sustainable. With years of expertise in Pilates, barre, and functional fitness, she creates sessions that challenge you in exactly the right way — building strength, improving posture, and leaving you feeling better than when you walked in.

Her teaching style combines patience, precision, and genuine encouragement. Every client she works with feels seen, supported, and capable of more than they thought possible.

Sara Bucelli

PILATES & FITNESS SPECIALIST

"Pilates didn't just change how my body moved — it changed how I felt in it. Now I get to help other women discover that same shift."

Sara is a comprehensively certified Pilates instructor, fully trained across all apparatus, with a deep commitment to helping others move and feel their best. She discovered Pilates in 2021 and quickly fell in love with the transformation it brought into her life — building strength, flexibility, and mobility in ways she'd never experienced before.

That personal transformation now fuels her purpose. Sara is dedicated to supporting women in every season of life, meeting them where they are with compassion, encouragement, and thoughtful, individualized instruction. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel empowered, strong, and connected to their bodies through mindful movement.

Sierra French

Pilates & Fitness Specialist

"One of my greatest joys is helping women build resilience, move with confidence, and feel at home in their bodies through every phase of life."

After nearly 15 years as a professional dancer in New York, Sierra developed a deep appreciation for the body's incredible ability to adapt, heal, and grow. Her experience taught her that movement is about more than exercise—it's a powerful tool for building strength, confidence, and resilience throughout every stage of life.

Sierra is passionate about creating a welcoming, supportive environment where women feel empowered to learn, grow, and trust their bodies. Whether you're returning to movement, navigating pregnancy and postpartum, or simply looking to feel stronger and more confident, she believes lasting change comes through education, purposeful movement, and community.

What starting here looks like

A Clear Path From Where You Are to Where You Want to Be

01

Tell Us What's Going On

Request a Pilates Intro Session or a Discovery Visit and we'll call you the same day — a real conversation about what you're dealing with. Not everyone who calls becomes a client. If we're not the right fit, we'll say so before you drive anywhere.

02

Spend an Hour With a Specialist

Sixty minutes, in person at our Encinitas studio. Every woman starts with the Revive Movement Screen™ — how you breathe, how you load, how your core and pelvic floor respond under pressure. Then we build your program around what the screen actually found.

03

You Get Your Active Life Back

You go back to the hike, the class, the thing you quietly gave up. You stop planning your day around your symptoms. You lift, hike, travel, and pick up your grandkids without wondering if you'll pay for it later.
