You’re Not Alone, and You’re Not Broken
If you’ve ever thought…
Why can’t I control my pee anymore?
I can’t hold my pee when I laugh, sneeze, or exercise.
Why am I losing control of my bladder?
I feel like I can’t hold my pee at all!
You’re not the only one asking. Women often silently struggle with symptoms like leaking, urgency, or waking up at night to pee — believing it’s just what happens with age and something they have to live with. But that’s simply not true.
At Revive PT & Pilates in Encinitas, we specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy for urge and stress incontinence — offering real solutions for women who can’t control their bladder, feel frustrated with leaking, or fear accidents in public.
You’re not weak or broken, and it can get better.
What is Stress Incontinence?
Stress incontinence happens when the muscles of the pelvic floor are too weak (or sometimes too tense) to fully support the bladder and urethra. This often results in leakage during pressure-based movements like coughing, laughing, sneezing, jumping, lifting, or running.
Many women experience it:
After childbirth
During perimenopause or menopause
After surgery like a hysterectomy
From years of core weakness or high-impact exercise
And still, so many are told to “just do Kegels” or “wear a pad and live with it.” That’s not okay. And it’s not your only option.
What is Urge Incontinence?
Urge incontinence (sometimes called “overactive bladder”) happens when you feel a sudden, intense need to urinate and can’t always make it to the bathroom in time. It’s often caused by a disconnect between your bladder and brain, or by pelvic floor muscles that aren’t coordinating properly with your bladder signals.
Many women experience it:
After menopause or hormonal shifts
With chronic bladder irritation or infections
Alongside pelvic floor dysfunction or weakness
During times of heightened stress or anxiety
You might feel like you’ve lost all control over when and where you pee. But there’s hope. Urge incontinence is treatable, and you don’t have to just “live with it.”

Why You Might Be Struggling With Bladder Control

If any of this sounds familiar, you’re in the right place:
You feel frustrated and think: I can't control my bladder anymore.
You leak when sneezing, exercising, or picking something up.
You’ve tried doing Kegels, but nothing seems to help.
You’ve wondered: Why can’t I hold my pee like I used to?
You’ve been told it’s just part of aging or “being a mom”.
You’ve lost sleep from having to pee multiple times a night.
You feel anxious going places without knowing where the bathroom is.
