You’re Not Alone, and You’re Not Broken

If you’ve ever thought…

  • Why can’t I control my pee anymore?

  • I can’t hold my pee when I laugh, sneeze, or exercise.

  • Why am I losing control of my bladder?

  • I feel like I can’t hold my pee at all!

You’re not the only one asking. Women often silently struggle with symptoms like leaking, urgency, or waking up at night to pee — believing it’s just what happens with age and something they have to live with. But that’s simply not true.

At Revive PT & Pilates in Encinitas, we specialize in pelvic floor physical therapy for urge and stress incontinence — offering real solutions for women who can’t control their bladder, feel frustrated with leaking, or fear accidents in public.

You’re not weak or broken, and it can get better.

What is Stress Incontinence?

Stress incontinence happens when the muscles of the pelvic floor are too weak (or sometimes too tense) to fully support the bladder and urethra. This often results in leakage during pressure-based movements like coughing, laughing, sneezing, jumping, lifting, or running.

Many women experience it:

  • After childbirth

  • During perimenopause or menopause

  • After surgery like a hysterectomy

  • From years of core weakness or high-impact exercise

And still, so many are told to “just do Kegels” or “wear a pad and live with it.” That’s not okay. And it’s not your only option.

What is Urge Incontinence?

Urge incontinence (sometimes called “overactive bladder”) happens when you feel a sudden, intense need to urinate and can’t always make it to the bathroom in time. It’s often caused by a disconnect between your bladder and brain, or by pelvic floor muscles that aren’t coordinating properly with your bladder signals.

Many women experience it:

  • After menopause or hormonal shifts

  • With chronic bladder irritation or infections

  • Alongside pelvic floor dysfunction or weakness

  • During times of heightened stress or anxiety

You might feel like you’ve lost all control over when and where you pee. But there’s hope. Urge incontinence is treatable, and you don’t have to just “live with it.”

  • "This has added so much to my quality of life.

After more than 10 years of having pelvic floor issues, I can now confidently run and jump and dance with no fear of leakage or pain. The expertise and care provided here is the Best!! Thank You!!”

  • "I am no longer anxious and distressed about my condition.

What a welcoming and calm space. I came to Revive for guidance with a prolapse concern. I've been working with Dr. Annalise and have seen great progress and under her care I am no longer anxious and distressed about my condition. Dr. Annalise is a gem - truly reassuring and knowledgeable. I love incorporating Pilates into my rehabilitation and plan on continuing with classes to maintain the improvement I have experienced.”

  • "NOTHING comes close to the treatment by the ladies here.

I am one of the MOST critical consumers of PT. Why? I've consumed so much PT I feel like I could make a screening tool for it. I've been seen at some amazing academic facilities and NOTHING comes close to the treatment by the ladies here. From the initial intake and consultation, all of my needs and concerns have been addressed with the most caring, detailed treatment. Be prepared to participate, LEARN, and work with the staff there for an improvement in your pelvic floor situation.

The staff is absolutely amazing - they give you the tools to help you improve, and are there when you have questions, concerns, and anything else!”

  • "I’m already seeing great results.

I am so grateful for finding this studio. Everyone there is amazing! I have been loving the one on one training and the small group classes. I’m already seeing great results as I am getting stronger and my pain from a past injury and from child birth has greatly improved. I plan to go to even more classes in the future and recommend this place to anyone wanting to improve their health.”

    AMANDA C.

  • "Can't recommend them highly enough!

This place is a wonderful find. Owned by two physical therapists, the Pilates program is absolutely perfect. Classes are small with individualized attention. I also have had an opportunity to utilize their PT services, and they are extremely good. They are caring, competent professionals in a clean, relaxed setting. I'm so glad I found this place!

When integrated with physical therapy, Pilates strengthens the deep core, improves posture, and teaches proper breathing and alignment—all essential for reducing urinary incontinence and restoring pelvic stability.
