How It Actually Works

Not a New Treatment.

Tendon and fascia heal by remodeling — laying down new tissue, clearing out what is worn, restoring blood supply. In chronic injury that process stalls. The tissue is not torn and it is not going to repair itself with more rest, which is why the third round of stretching does about what the first two did.

We tell you whether shockwave is the right tool

Sometimes it is, and it becomes part of your plan with clear goals and a defined course. Sometimes the tissue needs hands-on work and progressive loading instead, and we say so. You leave with a written action plan either way — including an honest answer about whether we can help at all.

Most women describe it as a deep pressure or a tapping sensation rather than pain, and it settles as soon as the treatment stops. Sessions are short and most women tolerate them well.
We control the intensity throughout and adjust based on what you tell us. If it is ever too much, say so and we dial it back — that is not us being accommodating, it is how the treatment is supposed to be delivered.
Most women notice meaningful improvement within three to six treatments, and some feel a difference after the first. The exact number depends on how long you have had the problem and how your tissue responds — some conditions need fewer, some need more, and we will tell you which we expect at your Discovery Visit.

Revive PT & Pilates is a private-pay practice — we don't bill insurance or Medicare directly. Every decision we make is based entirely on what your body needs, not what a coverage plan will approve.
Medicare does not cover the services we provide, so there is nothing for Medicare to reimburse. We do not provide superbills to Medicare beneficiaries, including Medicare Advantage plans.
If you have a PPO plan, we provide a superbill you can submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement. What comes back depends on your plan, so it's worth a quick call to your carrier.
