We built Revive because too many women were being told to “just live with it.”

We’ve seen too many women leave their doctor’s office feeling dismissed. We’re here to change that.
Women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s are told the same things, over and over: “This is just part of aging.” “Try Kegels.” “You might need surgery.” “There’s not much more we can do.”
We built Revive because we knew there was more that could be done. Because we’d seen what happened when women received the right care — from providers who actually specialize in what their bodies are going through.
They got better. Not just “better managed.” Actually better.
We’ve seen too many women feel ignored, isolated, or discouraged when their bodies change after having babies and going through menopause – or after dealing with chronic pain but being dismissed by traditional medical practices. We’re here to rewrite that story and help women pave a new path for their wellness.
Our team is made up of highly trained, all-female experts — each one a passionate advocate for women's health. Whether you're looking for a physical therapist in San Diego, CA or a safe place to reconnect with your body through movement and care with therapeutic Pilates in Encinitas, we're here to help you feel at home in your body again.
We don't just treat symptoms. We listen, we find the root cause, and we build a plan that's designed for your body — not a template. That's the Revive difference. And it's why women drive from across San Diego County to work with our team.
DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR WOMEN.

Meet the Revive Team
Our all-female team brings together expert care, real-world experience, and deep compassion for the women we serve. We’re here to help you move forward — with confidence, clarity, and support — so you can get back to loving and moving your body again.
Dr. Dawn Andalon built Revive because she was angry on your behalf.
Dr. dawn andalon, DPT, MTC, CPI
Owner and Co-founder, Physical Therapist, Speaker, Author, & Educator
After 20+ years treating women in traditional healthcare settings — including as a physical therapist and consultant at Nike World Headquarters in Portland — Dr. Dawn kept seeing the same heartbreaking pattern.
Women being rushed through 15-minute appointments. Women being told their symptoms are "normal" for their age. Women leaving with a sheet of generic exercises and no real answers. Women who were leaking, hurting, losing confidence in their bodies — and being told there wasn't much more that could be done.
So she built the clinic she wished existed for them.
Dr. Dawn believes that women over 40 deserve more than symptom management. They deserve a provider who finds the root cause. Who doesn’t bill by the insurance minute. Who integrates physical therapy and Pilates into one cohesive plan — because that’s what actually produces lasting results.
That’s what Revive was built to be.

Dr. Annalise Thompson, PT, DPT
Physical Therapist, Pelvic Floor Specialist, Pilates & Fitness Expert
"Movement is a human right — and it took my own experience with chronic pain to truly understand how powerful the body's capacity to heal really is."
Dr. Annalise brings a uniquely integrated approach to physical therapy — one that draws from sports performance, orthopedics, women's health, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and Pilates. Her higher-level training from the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Institute, combined with her clinical Pilates expertise, allows her to address the mind-body connection that's often missing in traditional PT settings.
Her own journey through chronic pain is what drew her to this work and keeps her showing up with genuine empathy for every client who arrives feeling like their body has failed them.

Dr. Dawn Andalon is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with 22+ years specializing in women's health, pelvic floor rehabilitation, and therapeutic Pilates. Before founding Revive, she worked as a physical therapist and consultant at Nike World Headquarters in Portland, OR. She is Polestar Pilates certified, Manual Therapy certified, and trained through the Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehab Institute. She has authored four books on women's health and hosts The Women's Health Happy Hour podcast.
While Dr. Dawn no longer treats clients directly, she trains every member of the Revive clinical team in her proprietary Pelvic & Core Reset™ Method — the same approach she developed over two decades of clinical practice. When you work with any Revive provider, you are receiving care built on Dr. Dawn's methodology, guided by her expertise, and delivered by a team she has personally trained.
-
Yes — intentionally. Every member of our clinical and support team is a woman. We made this decision because we know that many of the conditions we treat — pelvic floor dysfunction, incontinence, prolapse, post-surgical recovery — can feel deeply personal and sometimes embarrassing.
Our all-female environment ensures you can speak openly, ask anything, and receive care in a space where you feel completely comfortable. Many of our clients tell us it is the first time they have ever felt truly listened to in a healthcare setting.
-
Yes — and the best way to get started is with a complimentary Discovery Visit. This is a free 20-minute conversation where we learn about your goals and symptoms, explain how our programs work, and determine together whether Revive is the right fit for you.
There is no pressure and no obligation. If we are not the right fit for your situation, we will tell you honestly and point you in the right direction. You can book directly online or text us at (760) 301-5235.

Most traditional PT clinics are built around insurance billing — which means shorter sessions, rotating therapists, and care plans designed around what insurance approves rather than what your body actually needs. Most Pilates studios offer general group classes with no clinical oversight.
At Revive, we are a cash-pay practice that combines both disciplines under one roof. Every decision we make is based entirely on what is right for you — not what an insurance company will reimburse. Your sessions are one-on-one, unhurried, and with the same specialist every time.
Every provider on our team is trained in Dr. Dawn Andalon's Pelvic & Core Reset™ Method — her proprietary clinical approach developed over 22 years of women's health practice. You are not getting a generic treatment protocol. You are getting a plan built around your body, your history, and your goals.
As a cash-pay practice, this also means longer sessions, more personalized care, and no arbitrary discharge dates. And because California is a direct-access state, you can get started without a physician referral.

If you are coming for Physical Therapy: Your first visit is all about understanding your story. We will sit down for a full evaluation, review your health history, and assess your movement, posture, and any symptoms you have been experiencing. From there, we will begin gentle hands-on therapy and introduce therapeutic exercises tailored specifically to your body. You will leave feeling heard, supported, and clear on your path forward.
If you are coming for Pilates: Your first session begins with a one-on-one movement assessment so we can understand your goals, any injuries or health concerns, and how your body currently moves. You will be introduced to the reformer and guided through gentle, therapeutic exercises chosen specifically for you. Expect a calm, no-pressure environment focused on building your confidence and laying a strong foundation for long-term results.
In both cases — you will never be rushed, you will never feel like a number, and you will leave knowing exactly what your next step is.

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized branch of physical therapy focused on the muscles, nerves, and connective tissues that support your bladder, uterus, and bowel — an area that standard PT typically does not address at all.
At Revive, we go further than either approach alone. Because our team includes pelvic floor specialists who are also trained in orthopedic PT and therapeutic Pilates, we can see and treat the full picture — how your pelvic floor connects to your core, your spine, your hips, and your overall movement.
This means we can address things that most clinics miss entirely: why your back pain keeps coming back, why Kegels alone are not working, and why your symptoms got worse after surgery. We find the root cause. That is what makes the difference.
-
Therapeutic Pilates is a clinically guided form of movement training — different from the Pilates you might find at a general fitness studio. Instead of following a standard class format, every exercise is chosen specifically for your body, your condition, and your goals.
It focuses on strengthening the deep stabilizing muscles of the core, hips, and pelvic floor that support your body during everyday movement — the muscles that most fitness programs either ignore or work incorrectly.
At Revive, therapeutic Pilates is delivered by specialists trained in both rehabilitation and movement — meaning if something is not working or something hurts, we know why and we know how to fix it. Sessions are private or small group, never more than five people, and always guided by a women's health specialist — not a general fitness instructor.
For women over 40 navigating pelvic floor issues, back pain, menopause, or surgical recovery, it is one of the most effective tools we have.
-
Yes — and in many ways it is most effective for women in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. This is when pelvic floor changes become most noticeable, and when the right intervention makes the biggest difference in quality of life.
Symptoms like bladder leaks, pelvic heaviness, painful intimacy, back pain, and core weakness are not inevitable parts of aging. They are signals that something specific is not functioning the way it should — and most of them respond extremely well to targeted pelvic floor physical therapy.
We have worked with women in their 40s who thought they were too young to have these issues, women in their 60s who thought they had waited too long, and everything in between. In the vast majority of cases, the right care produces real, lasting results — without surgery, without medication, and without being told to just live with it.
